Two pretty, highly collectible and rare side plates, produced by David Chapman and Sons between 1882 and 1905. From 1905 onwards, the company became Atlas and the back stamp changed.
 
Relatively good condition for their considerable age - one plate looks slightly newer than the other and has the pattern number (possibly 168050) embossed rather than stamped on the back.
 
Crazing to the glaze on both of the plates. Wear to the gold rims. Transfer and hand painted patterns are still vibrant. Both plates have very fine hairline cracks.
 
Each plate measures 18cm in diameter.
