Here we have a lovely set of five, vintage hardback books, sold as a collection, based on colour.

 

This set is made up of primary colours; blue, red and yellow. with a combination of gold, black and yellow fonts. The books have a combination of different textures, each complimenting the next.

 

They would look attractive on a bookcase, mantle, shelf, or as props in tv, theatre or a photo shoot.

 

Included in this set is;

 

A Shepherd Remembers, by Leslie Wetherhead. A beautiful, embossed, light blue cloth hardback with black font. First edition, 1937.

 

Macaulay’s Essays and Lays of Ancient Rome, popular edition. A dark blue cloth bound hardback with marbled decorative endpapers , and gold font to the spine. An antique book, collectible in its own right, dated 1889.

 

The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann R Wyss. A yellow and blue, cloth bound hardback with gold font. Decorated front and back with red and blue boats and palm trees, several illustrated bookplates within. Printed 1957.

 

Aldersyde by Annie S Swan. An antique, red cloth bound hardback, dated 1903. Black font, with a decorative spine and front cover. Handwritteb bookplate in the front cover.

 

Five Pre-Shakespearean Comedies published by Oxford University Press. A dark blue cloth bound hardback with a yellow dust jacket and red, yellow and black font.

 

Unlike many other vintage coloured book selections available online, the books pictured here are the ones you will receive.

 

This stack measures approximately 16cm high x 19cm wide x 13cm deep, when stacked horizontally.

 

These books are in relatively good condition for their age, however, please bear in mind, they have been selected based on their appearance as a decorative collection, not on their contents. Scuffs, wear, tanning, wobbly spines and other age related marks come as standard, and are an important part of their appearance.
